Spring Look #1: The Daily Coppers With A Twist

Spring to me is kinda like the beginning of my bronzer season. I know some people find pastels more appropriate for spring, and this is a look that will be coming pretty soon I promise, but honestly, I much prefer my coppers.

Since its pretty difficult to do a tutorial on the blog, I decided to talk a little bit about the products, and hopefully do a quick 3-4 minutes tutorial on my YouTube channel. So lets get the copper party started. (No base products discussed here for I have covered the foundation routine topic on both this blog and my channel)

here are the colors involved

Since I mentioned my lovely bronzer, I though I'll start there. I use the Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in 03 Brunettes. This bronzer is more orange toned, which makes it perfect for giving your face a healthy warmth and glow rather than a sculpting effect. It also has very fine shimmer that are, in my experience, undetectable on the skin. It goes on super smoothly on the face, it is pretty pigmented, and very easy to build up and intensify on some areas of your face. I apply this all over my face and neck, and it just looks glamorous, I think. And that's all I do cheeks-wise.

Moving on to the makeup part that I love the best, the eyes. This eye look is super simple that it doesn't need a pro to recreate. I practically use two eyeshadows, a liner, and some mascara. The first eyeshadow is one that I bet every girl who watches a little bit of YouTube has heard of, and probably got. It is the infamous Maybelline Color Tattoo in On And On Bronze, or Bad To The Bronze. I use my mac 239 brush and apply this on my lid, making sure that I do not apply it over my crease, and then I take the very ends of the mac 239 and I run the product along the outer half of my lower lash line. No pro skill needed here! Then I take a coppery powder eyeshadow with a mac 217 and I just apply it over the bronze color we've applied before, and a little into the crease, and of course over the bronze on your lover lash line. Then I take the Lancome LE Crayon Khol Waterproof in 07 Curacao, which is a turquoise teal eyeliner, and line my waterline like a pro! And all you've got to do now is curl those lashes of yours and coat them with a ton of mascara!

For the lips, I love me some good juicy orange corals. Now of course there are plenty of shades like that in the market, but I'm still hooked on the Guerlain Automatique line, and the one we're talking about today is the Rouge automatique in 141 Quand Vient L'Ete. This can honestly be enough on its own since it does have some lovely golden shimmer running through it, but to make it juicer, you should definitely opt for a gloss on top. I love the combination of this lipstick and the Estee Lauder gloss in Praline Paradise which is a peachy nude color with beautiful shimmer too and a lot of shine.

To finish up the look, I also recommend a shimmery metallic coppery nail polish like this Ga-De Crystal Glow Nail Enamel in 815 Tangerine Garnet. Two coats of it and your look is complete.

I purposely did not share a picture of the final look because I'm saving it for the YouTube tutorial which I will hopefully film next week! And it will hopefully include my first outfit of the day, so keep your fingers crossed! But meanwhile, enjoy the swatches.

Dior Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Velvet Peony Extract

I have mentioned this product before in my blog and my YouTube channel (which you should check out and subscribe to, of course!), and I love it, but it seems like I've never actually devoted a blog post solely to tell you guys why I think this product is awesome.

In an attempt to keep this review short and directional, I'll start by saying that this is a cleanser that fulfills all of the standards or expectations I look for in a cleanser.

This is what the tube looks like

The first of my cleanser needs is obvious, I want it to cleanse my face really well. Even when I'm wearing heavier makeup, I find that after I remove my makeup and then use this to cleanse my face, my face will be really clean, and a proof to that is a little to try and use a makeup remover over your cleansed face, and if the cotton pad is still clean, then that means that your face is. However, I do not apply makeup remover over a my freshly cleansed face, I'm just suggesting a way of you testing whether your cleanser really works or not.

Writing on the tube

Second of all, I do not want my face to feel tight and dry afterwards, which I found was the case with many other cleanser. This leaves my face feeling clean, yet comfortable. Usually, cleansers that cleanse your natural oils off of your face make your skin produce more oil to compensate for the loss, but if your cleanser doesn't do that, then your face is probably balanced. This is a great cleanser for all skin types, definitely!

Its a squeeze tube, yay!

Thirdly, I prefer using a cleanser on my eyes too to remove excess makeup remover, mascara, or whatever unwanted things that may still be there on my eyelids. But a cleanser that would burn my eyes is not an option, as you might imagine. But this amazing cleanser doesn't hurt my eyes, and it does the cleansing job superbly.

This is how it looks straight out of the tube, on my dry hand

Last but not least, I am not find of cleansers that lather up, they make breathing a little difficult for me and its just not nice. Not to mention that for a product to lather up, it will need ingredients that aren't healthy for your face, and they tend to make my skin feel super dry and tight. This one really doesn't lather, I can breathe while cleansing, and it doesn't have those foaming nasty ingredients. Win win situation.

Without water

So yeah, to conclude, I highly recommend this, and I think I will be repurchasing it over and over again until it stops being produced. Another randoms conclusion, I am horrible at keeping things short and directional!

With water

What is your favorite cleanser? Or have you tried this one?

MIA Update

Hey folks, sorry I've been absent lately, and I will still be absent for another week or so at least blog-wise. The reason behind that is that I am quite ill atm, I originally had a throat infect, now I also have an eye infection, and its pretty difficult for me to sit in front of the screen and write the normal blogs or so. I hope to see you soon. But since I do not want to leave you empty handed, I have filmed my monthly favorites over on my YouTube channel, so feel free to check it out over there and find out what the bright side of March had in stores for me, and hopefully that'll inspire you too!

Testing Out #2: Guerlain Tenue De Perfection Foundation

YES! at last, Tenue De Perfection has finally arrived to Guerlain counters in Nazareth, and the Guerlain fanatic within me got beyond excited! But hey, I am not the kind to buy a foundation I haven't tried on myself, so I took a small little pot and asked the lady at the counter to fill in a little bit of it for me to try and see whether I like it or not. Obviously, the moment I got back home, I had to play with it a little and check the texture and stuff, but I didn't apply it on my face then.

Upon touching it and blending it on my hand, my initial reaction was that this is not exactly thick, well, it kinda is to me, and that's just because I'm used to, and I love Guerlain's Lingerie De Peau, which is definitely runny. I've never really liked "thicker" consistencies for my foundations, but hey, its Guerlain, I want to try it out and see how I like it before I toss it out or run to the counter and purchase it.

So as I was saying, I blended it on my hand to see the coverage level, and it turned out to have a medium-FULL coverage, and it is build-able. On my hand, it seemed like a perfect match, and just to clarify, the lady didn't have to match me, I knew pretty much which shade will (02 Beige Claire). the finish is also pretty matte, with a very slight and almost unnoticeable baby sheen, but mostly matte.

I let it sit on my hand for a couple hours, just to see how it feels and all, but keep in mind that my hands are drier than my face, and it felt pretty drying on.

Now lets move to the part where we discuss the face, shall we!

So for me, I need to test a foundation out for 4 days, in 4 different situations:
1. Straight on the face
2. Over Guerlain's L'or Primer (the one with gold)
3. Over Estee Lauder Illuminating Primer
4. Over the two primers mixed together

So far, I have tried it for 2 days, and lets find out what happened.

Day one was straight on the face, and I must tell you this, the coverage is pretty full, the application is easy as long as you don't take a year and a half to blend, and I tried a little bit with a brush, and a little bit with my hands, and it worked pretty good in both scenarios. It was, like I said, pretty matte too, which isn't my favorite finish to be honest. It wore all day long and it did not emphasize my despised almost there laughter lines which my beloved Lingerie De Peau can tend to do. It did settle in some pores after 6-8 hours of wear, but it wasn't terrible at all. However, for my normal-dry skin, this was a little too drying, and by the end of the day (after 10-11 hours of wear), and even though it looked pretty well, my cheeks and the area around my mouth felt pretty tight and a little uncomfortable. So I thought this must be great for combo-oily skin.

Day two was under my Guerlain Primer, and that primer is pretty moisturizing and dewy. So I applied it over that, the coverage was the same, pretty full coverage but natural and not cakey at all, even if built up. The finish was more satiny than it was on day one, but that is all due to the primer. It wore pretty great I must say, I got the same 10-11 hours (until I took it off), but I still had the pores issue around my nose, but it was definitely less than day 1. In terms of drying, I didn't notice my skin feeling tight, but definitely not moisturized or whatever. So, over the Guerlain primer, I did enjoy it a lot more.

I still have two more days of trial, and I will definitely make a "The Verdict is" blog and video on it. So my tip for you curious readers is to follow my blog and stay fully informed, and to subscribe to my YouTube channel. But I have more things schedules before this video will come up, so expect it to come sometime after April the 10th.

One last thing, my skin isn't very sensitive, so far, no break outs, but we'll see!

I have purposely reserved the footage for the final verdict, so expect to see them sometime in April.

Oh, and by the way, have you tried this foundation? what do you think about it? and what is your preferred method of applying it? AAAND lastly, do you love Lingerie De Peau as much as I do????

Thanks for reading, don't forget to check my channel again and follow the blog!
lots of love,

Mind Blowing Product #3: Guerlain Maxi Shine

Its Guerlain girl time... YAY! Do you love Guerlain as much as I do? Well, then you must have already tried these beauties! Today I want to talk to you about a product that I haven't had for long, but one that I think is absolutely mind blowing. It is a gloss, and though I'm not much of a gloss fan, I couldn't resist a Guerlain lip product in a pretty package! The gloss line is called Maxi Shine, and that shine word at the end delivers pretty intensely, its almost like a mirror effect.

I would have liked to talk to you about the packaging, but a picture is worth a thousand words, and again, we are talking about Guerlain, the queen or king of luxury. So without any further ado, here's the big reveal!

Beautiful, RIGHT!

It has a doe foot applicator, and it kind of looks like a rectangle, which I am still on the fence about. I find the applicator to be a little too stiff and inflexible, and it does not come to a point, like the YSL glossy stains for example. But it is not impossible whatsoever, it is actually kind of still easy, just not as good as a pointy applicator might have been. This gloss is also quite secure, you can put it in your handbag and forget about it, and it won't open.

The finish is ULTRA glossy, as I said before, it looks almost like a mirror of some sort. And I find it to be one of the longer lasting glosses out there. It doesn't last as well as a lipstick, but then it doesn't claim to be one too. It is also not entirely sheer, which gets a massive thumbs up from me. The color I have is in 470, as noted earlier, and it is called Magenta Waoh (wow??)! The only downside to luxury makeup is those french names, makes you feel like whatever degree you spent your time on wasn't enough for glamour world! Anyway, leaving lovely french aside, unless it was a french man of course (JK), this is a magenta purple pink, stunnnnning! it reminds me of a sheered out Lancome Violette Coquette, that would make a great lip combo! And because I'm rubbish at describing colors, here's a good ol' swatch for y'all!

And lastly, IS THIS THING COMFORTABLE ON OUR LUSCIOUS LIPS??? HELL YEAH! But I think it is a tiny little bit heavy, and you might not want your hair to get blown away and land on this gloss, its just a little sticky for my taste, which is why I don't wear glosses that much, but I want to branch out of my boring lipstick life and I love this gloss and I love Guerlain and it was on a pretty good sale, soooo, sure, why not!

Do you have any this line of glosses? Which shades do you think I should get next? AAND WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS SHADE??
